Becoming an Australian Citizen – New resources available

Submitted by Mark on Sunday, 23 September 20072 Comments

Australian Citizenship - Are you ready for the Australian Citizenship testOnce you finally made it down under the next thing that many folks will want to do is gain their Australian Citizenship so that they can become a ‘real aussie’

Getting Australian citizenship has recently got a little harder, not only do you need to be a permanent Australian resident for four years instead of two, from the 1st of October 2007 you also need to take the Australian citizenship test.

To help support this, The Australian citizenship website has launched a number of resources that will help those in preparing for and taking the new test.

The first is a new resource book

The resource book, creatively titled; ‘Becoming an Australian Citizen‘, is supposed to help you prepare for the citizenship test.

Apparently everything you need to know to become an Aussie and pass the test are contained within the paged of this book

In addition to the book, general Citizenship Test information is also now available online.

The site provides information about the Australian citizenship test and provides instructions on things such as booking for the test, preparing for the test and what to do after the test.

As we moved to Australia prior to the change of the 2 year to 4 year rule we hope to take the text within the next year or so. I’ll let you know how we get on nearer the time.
