Finally we’ve moved into our new home
November 5, 2007
Jeeze, what an absolutely knackering weekend! We’ve finally moved into our new house after what seems like a lifetime of packing and preparation.
All of our boxes which we packed up in the UK are now sat in the garage waiting to be unpacked.
Despite this, it’s amazing how much crap we we’ve managed to collect in less then a year living down under.
Although its nothing like it was back in the UK, I think we’ll need to do a bit of a sort out whilst finding a perminant home for all of our stuff.
We’ve got most of the jobs done to our house that we wanted to get done before moving in. A monitored burglar alarm was fitted last weekend and the refrigerated reverse cycle ducted air conditioning went in on Thursday, something that will really make a difference as temperatures continue to rise.
I’m writing this on our new broadband connection whilst listening to Sky News courtesy of Foxtel which was installed earlier this morning.
We went for the Foxtel IQ service(which is similar to the SKY+ service we used to have in the UK) so far all looks good.
I’ve taken the rest of the week off work so I’m sure I’ll be kept busy doing a few other odd jobs. In the meantime it will be really nice just to do nothing.
Yeh, I know… Nothing sounds good doesn’t it? For the first time in years we have nothing big to do!
Starting over three years ago we kicked off the process to emigrate to Australia, then we went through the delights of selling our house and flying down under. Once here we struggled to find a rental and then we fell pregnant with junior number two after being in the country for only a week. What? need more stress? Ok, lets buy a house.
Sigh! Now its time to relax, have a barbie and a couple of beers, yes the detox lasted oh… all of 4 days
I’ll save working out how to use the pool filter for another day ![]()
