Deadly 60 – Australia
Deadly 60 – Australia is being broadcast on BBC one tomorrow at 17:15 for anyone that’s interested.
Within the program, lucky wildlife expert Steve Backshall and his crew head for the Australian continent as he continues his Deadly 60 mission.
During the program he visits Perth (yay!) which turns our to be home to one of Australia’s deadliest snakes, the tiger snake (boo!).
For all those who choose to tune in, theres a surprise in store as it turns out that these snakes live right alongside the visitors to the city’s local park. How nice!
Happily, slightly less deadly Australian animals are also highlighted in the show including pelicans and bottlenose dolphins. I wonder if they filmed the dolphins over in Monkey Mia?
As I can’t the good old beeb from down under then I’d appreciate the views of anyone who saw the show. Were the tiger snakes that scary?

Just want to let every reader know that this program ROCKS! I haven’t seen anything as interesting, and educated as this. I’m well impressed and looking forward for tonight’s program. I never been abroad and never seen any deadly and unique species in our world and this program opened my eyes, and view of the green live and how much I want to go abroad and discover this in real. I wish i could go with you guys and experience this myself.
Well done for producing ‘Deadly 60′ and keep it up as its unbelievable enjoyment and discovery for everyone who’s watching it!

Hi Laura, I wish, however as an Aussie resident we can’t view BBC iplayer content.
In most cases, this stuff is available to UK Residents only as you guys continue to pay the Television license fee which covers the Beebs content. As we don’t pay the fee then the BBC restricts access to it’s ‘paid for’ content.
I know there are technical (and slightly dodgy) ways to get around this however it’d be probably easier for me to find a snake by popping down to one of the local parks

Hi , just looked for this program and it’s on the ‘CBBC’ channel tomorrow at 17.15 , thats channel 70 on free-view. my 6 year old twins want to know what they can look forward to seeing(being bitten by) when we move to Perth later this year.

Dear Phill, teach your sweet twins common sense rules. Look around when you sit down. Dont put your hands where you cant see (in holes under logs etc.) Dont ever try to catch or kill a snake yourself, call your local council, they have people for this. Also remember the same rules apply for our spiders they can be just as dangerous (but not all). You just have to be a little more vigilant watching little ones. Dont worry too much, very few people in OZ die from snake bite, our doctors know what to do. Good luck with your new life in Perth.
