Well, assuming the IT sector picks up in the next 6 months so I don't need a
'career change', I would assume the cbd might be a likely destination.

How does train commuting compare to car commuting in Brisbane?

The roading infrastructure is pretty good around Brissy, better on the
southside, than the north. Where you'll come unstuck is finding a park once
    you get into the CBD.

Public transport particularly rail, is very good in Brisbane. My pick for
the best suburbs on the rail line are the ones from Wynnum to Cleveland on
the Brisbane's beautiful bayside. These suburbs - particularly Wynnum,
Manly, Wellington Point, Ormiston and Cleveland are quite pricey - just be
prepared to pay at least $400,000 for anything half-decent (4 bedroom, 2
bathroom with pool and lock up garage). Thorneside and Birkdale are a little
cheaper but prices are rising quickly there too.

I've been told by a real estate agent that pretty much everyone of
them puts everything on www.realestate.com.au because it's
an independent, comprehensive overview of all real estate available,
and consequently it's where most people will look first when looking
    for a house.
