    Default Melbourne -Where to go?

    Hello everyone
My husband and I have just sent off our
application's(17.4.04) to go Victoria (nominated State) and are looking
at areas of where to start. We have read up on Rosebud,Mornington and Mt
Martha and they all look lovely - can anybody confirm whether these are
good areas? My husabnd is a chef so we also need area's which have alot
of restaurants? Also if these places are nice would it be practicle to
commute to Melbourne or is it just too far?
    Any replies grateful

Rosebud is nice but probably more a "holiday" location and as such work
could tend to be seasonal, Mornington similar in some respects, Mt Martha is
nice and slightly more cosmo, these areas you like are not overly crowded
with restaurants though work in or near Frankston may appeal though parts of
    Frankston for living in wont.

Ok, you said "any replies grateful", so here goes.........
You cannot decide that over the net, Neither should you rely on someone
elses opinion of what is good for YOU.
Wait until you set foot on the ground, have a look for yourself and make up
your mind. Many people here ask silly questions like 'what is a good area',
are the snakes dangerous', etc, etc.

    hi nibblo,

the peninsula areas are a bit too far from the city centre for
convenient driving in. However, chefs are very sought after
and there is a fair amount of hospitality there.
I live roughly in that area (Carrum), let me know if you have
    any more questions,
