    Default Help on Adelaide Suburbs

We've been looking into moving to Adelaide. Does anybody have constructive opinions on which suburbs are ok to live there?
We'd be looking at property in the range of $200k-$250k

We have our PR's and will be moving over in Feb. Looked at Brisbane but the property prices are getting out of control and increasing.

rent first, get a feel, then buy

Depends where you work and what you want to do when not.
Generally the roads are quite good even if you need to travel some distance
    during high density times.

west and north-west of the city ,and elizabeth, are lower market

    http://www.arta.com.au/samaps/adelaide/adkey27.html
is probably avoidable, mostly light industrial anyway
it tends to get a whiff of Wingfield dump when the wind blows from the
    North,
but that is closing soon and the area is prime for redevelopment.

    http://www.arta.com.au/samaps/adelaide/adkey11.html
has higher crime and lower economic level

there are less attractive pockets but most places are okay, it is
hard to say any whole area is good or bad

    e.g.
    http://www.arta.com.au/samaps/adelaide/adkey33.html
South Prospect/Fitzroy is much more upmarket,
    North Adelaide is latte central
Devon Park , literally the other side of the tracks, is more downmarket
and slightly higher property crime, drop $100,000 land value in 100 metres.
Brompton has some communes and retirement villages.
All within one km, not a huge difference in crime or access to services.

In addition the environment , social and economic, is quite dynamic.
    Areas are rapidly (re)developed..
The council land value(ation) in Prospect has risen from $180 to $290k in 4
    years,
in direct relation to the sound level of bulldozers and nail-guns.
