Default Finally back on track but need advice..AoS question.

Hi, long time since I first found this site. Due to all kinds of reasons
only now back on track with trying to escape to Perth!

I am waiting to hear from NOOSR (sent July 20th ish), have most of the
stuff sorted for main app (Skilled Australian Sponsored). Problem is the
relos in Oz sent me completed AoS form with what I think is a photocopy
    of their Citizenship certs.

    Two questions:
Do I need to ask them to send a certified copy?
It is my brother in law who is sponsoring us, am I right when I say that
my husband is main applicant....even though I am the one having to be
skilled assessed....due to hubby being over 45?

Nice to be back in the thick of thinks. Even if stress levels back up!
    Thanks for any help offered.

Nikki (Perth Sept 2005 fingers crossed)

hey there, i can say that the documents need to be certified, now over in
perth "where i Live" you can certify your documents for free by a justice of
the peace any pharmacist can do this, though makes sure that it is stamped
with JP Names and pharmacy details.

as far as your sponsorship is concerned i would i would hate to take a
guess but when my wife applied for her spouse visa i was the the main
    sponser

hope this helps you in some way

    Hi Nikkie

We are applying for a 139 Skilled Designated Sponsored Visa.

It is my cousin who is sponsoring us, so I am the main applicant and I
am 45 but it is my husbands skills that we are going on and he was under
    45 at time of application.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks for the info on the certifying!

I am really confused now, we had been told that Peter my husband had to
be the primary/main applicant because it was his brother/blood relo who
would be sponsoring us (Skilled Aus Spon route).

However because he is over 45 he fails the basic requirements (I pass
all of them 38, teacher 5+ years etc) so it is me who is assessed.

Only one of us has to qualify?

    Help!!!!!!

sorry for the confusion - page 8 of the of the skilled migration booklet
will clarify it for you (bottom of page). But, I'm not sure how it works
as your other half is the one with the relative.

As for the cerified documents - as long as the copies have been verified
by a JP theres no worries - but this needs to go off in the sponsor
documentation (form 40- completed by your sponsor) with your visa
    application (SK47).

As far as i can tell July bought about some changes of the AoS business
and I believe oz immigration will ask you at a later date for the
assurors details. He/She/Them will have to contact Centrelink for an
    interview/forms etc.

I hope this helps - we're off to Perth also (cross fingers) next year.
I'm applying as a teacher also and have NOOSR. We visited Perth for a
month in July/August and it's going be a good place to move to.

    Good Luck

Hi Nikki, first you do not need to send and Asssurance of Support form
now, that has been stopped. When Adelaide request your medicals and pcc
they will send you a letter to send to your assurer which they then have
to take to Centrelink with all the necessary documentation.

All photo copies must be certified true copies by a person of social
standing. My sponsors and mine were stamped by solicitors.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Gaz

It's great to find someone else going down the same route. Just
watching the mail for the NOOSR reply, then I can finally get the main
    bit started.

I am primary trained, but have just swapped for a bit to secondary
school. Big change!!!!!! Although they are assessing me under primary, I
might like to look at staying in sec when I get over.

We spent the whole of last summer over there with the relos in Perth.
Taken us years of promising to go out. Fell in love with it and
hopefully will be in Ashfield next Sept/Oct.

Kids can't wait either, which was the main worry I had.

Any idea where you want to head for?

    Hi Nikki

NOOSR really good and helpful - I forgot to send birth cert so it was a
little long than usual (4 months).

We have relos in both north and south suburbs, so suspect we will settle
as close as possible to job and kids schools.

Visted a couple of schools while there (cousin words for WA ed dept), it
proved an interesting insight. I was impressed with what I saw and would
be happy enough to teach in Perth.

We saw some real nice suburbs (most in the main were nice). The wife
liked Hillary's (North) and Safety Bay (South).

SK47 and 40 in the post early next week, just double checking
everything. How does it work with you other half being the main
applicant and you possessing the skills? I suspect it will be okay,
    especially with you skill.

    good luck
