    In most states it's 3 months, not six.

    Usually temporary residents do not need to get an Australian driving
    licence if they have a valid overseas licence. But exact rules will
    vary from state to state.

    Check the websites of the licensing authorities of the
    state/territories you plan to visit to see what the exact rules are for
    visiting drivers. If it's not in English you may need to carry an
    official translation with you.

    You may want to get an international drivers licence in your home
    country before you leave.
