After many years living happily about 10kms closer to the city, we moved
into this area a few weeks ago. It's certainly proved to be a great part
of the world to live. We appreciate the friendly neighbours, the feel of
the general neighbourhood and the regular afternoon sea breeze. It will
take a major reason to entice us to move again.

Must put it on our househunting list - i want to stay on the north side
and a sea breeze would be great.

Hi there Oldbill, hows things ?

My parents are flying over from the UK to Brisbane for a holiday in
March.....They miss me, apparently ! hee hee.

I've been looking at a few hotels close-by (I live next to the CBD) but
most are $100 per night. So.....they'll be paying around $1,500
accomodation, which is a bit more than I expected.

You mentioned staying in motels in another of your posts....do you know
of any that are reasonably close to the centre of town, & cheap ? My
parents will be hiring a car so they don't really need to be staying too
    close to the centre...

Any ideas would be appreciated !
    Kind regards,
    Mark

I know a guy who lives in Robina (OK, it's not on the coast itself) and
travels into Brisbane on the train each day. It takes just over an hour.
He works for Queensland Rail so he probably gets free tickets too
