Folks each one is giving is his own view here, that good.
But we want the suggestions to be clear.

I will be happy to consider the priority of couple of things and then
look for life style. Things like:
    i. when I migrate I need to get going fast on the knowlege that I have
rather than doing something which I have not learnt my life. Its like
establishing youself on the knowledge you have.
ii. The visa (skilled independent) has been granted to us to aid the
Economy and I see a clear vision and goal of the Govt.
considering both the things the priority will be to go for hard life
for couple of years and once eastablished myself I can lookover to
    LIFESTYLE..
hey that;s my suggestion again not to oppose anyone.

but can anyone suggest as why not Melb...why sydney and Perth ???
    thanks.
    regards,
    Muks

The weather would be a score against Melbourne. Even the Australians at
the Sandown show at the weekend were laughing about the Melbourne
Weather. It was suggested that if we poms get homesick, instead of going
all the way back to the UK, we should take a trip to Melbourne, because
the weather will remind us of home. Plenty about that on the forums.

Saying that, obviously a lot of people don't find it a problem, as it is
    a very popular destination.

If you watch the property auction shows on sky, 50% of the time it seems
to rain when the show comes from Melbourne.

Well, that's hard. I had luck - I had to do a 2nd ACS skills assessment
(wrong type choosen first time) and became a 'post-Julyer' (I heard of
    4-6 months, too).
Have you already tried to contact a recruiter in Perth or will you wait
until you're moved ? I am thinking it may be a good idea to do this,
just to check the situation or maybe make some contacts...

I'm a little surprised. I'm reading other migration forums about OZ,
too, but such experiences are very rare.
What business are you doing ?

Depends for what reason you are migrating.
One reason for me is the economical situation in Germany (where I come
from). I am currently working hard and still have quite a good job. But
things are getting worse here. I also believe someone can achieve more
when working the same style in OZ - after an initial hard time.
Another - for me reason of equals importance - is lifestyle and
wheather. As said in another posting - if you're going migrate to
somewhere, you should feel comfortable. I personally don't feel
comfortable in Melbourne (no offence, just my oppinion).
Last but not least I want to try living in another country as long as I
am not too old. At least for a while...

welcome to the real world. quit moaning and get on with it. And if all
you can find around perth is bars and beaches then that says a lot
    about you.

incidentally, no, i do not live in perth.

Who said anything about bars?? I used the word bar, not bars. 4 years
here, and yup, we have done most. As for my character, married,
wonderful wife, 2 beaut girls, kicked out of Zimbabwe due to a Black
Hitler called Mugabe who was helped into power by the Brits,Lived in
paradise (Cape Town), Lived in a dump (Bournemouth) and now living in
boredom (Perth). Why exactly dont you live here Jamie??

I'm going to wait until I am out there. I'm lucky that I can spend 6
months or so getting the family settled before looking for work. Someone
was saying the Oz agencies won't talk with people who have not already
got their visas, so maybe wait until the visa has been granted. Saying
that, there is no harm doing research of possible employers now.
