pet quarantine Hi, can anyone tell me their experiences with bringing pets into australia
and quarantine experiences, specifically Perth?
I want to bring my cats from US to Aus and would love to hear if anyone has
done this and how it all went, the travel, the quarantine, and how your pets
reacted to it all.
reply or email me
thanks,
Sam

Hi sam, if you do a search on this site then you can find past posts
about it. i also found this site yesterday www.aussiemove.com on the
links go on to the move then taking pets and there is a list of
discussions about peoples experiences. there is a post from someone
who's dog went to perth quarantine and she said he was absolutely
fine....i'm also dreading it but have hardly ever seen many negative
experiences, i reckon the owners are more stressed than the dogs! good
luck x loidy

We looked into this at one point in the past as we were also thinking
about taking cats from the US to Oz. I think that AQIS required
something like 6 months of quarantine for animals coming from the US as
well as other things like additional shots etc, which required about 6-
12 months of up front planning. Take a look at the AQIS site at
http://www.affa.gov.au for more info.
Note that the requirements for the US and the UK are different for
importing pets.
Cheers,
Brian
