    Default living in Bronte, Sydney

    Hi all

So I'll be moving to Sydney with my partner in December time, and we are
looking to rent (or maybe buy) around the Bronte area.

we had a look round earlier this year and that seemed like a great area,
    close to the beach etc.

Can anyone else say much about the area (including the surrounds) and if
there is much to recommend? Ie:

    what are the neighbourhoods like?
what kind of people live there?
how long does it take to get into the CBD at rush hour?
Is there much else to do there apart from sun & surf (I'd love to find a
    friendly local tennis club!)?
What is a good rental price to pay for a 2 bed place?
Any tips for places to look for rental adverts etc.

    Thanks

Bronte's not a particularly cheap area, but it's quite nice.

    - no train, so you need a bus or car to get to the CBD

    - the beachs are nice, but you need to be aware that Bronte and Tamarama
beaches are two of the most dangerous in Sydney (in terms of risk of
being drowned). Talk to the lifeguards. Coogee Beach is 'safer'
(although not necessarily safe for the unwary) as the waves are lower.

    - Rental. Suggest you look on the real estate websites.

    - Tennis. Look on the website of Tennis Australia (or whatever they are
called). Also look at the Randwick and Waverley council websites to
see what public tennis courts or facilities are available.
