Castle Hill, (N. Western suburbs of Sydney) that's where my borther
lives and he loves it there with his family. as an IT contractor you'll
be able to afford the houses too!!! Commutable to CBD and far enough
away from the hassles of city centre living.
I used to be an IT contractor but have decided to get away from IT when
we get over there, gonna try and live a more chilled lifestyle
    Good luck

thanks tony we'll check it out but we are really looking for something
coastal but you never know. Its a tough call because we want a largish
house/plot but also want the city convenience but don't have A$10m for a
house in Watsons bay.....I'm sure we'll find somewhere...
