I too have had rabbit stew! Anyhow I have to say no to rabbits coming
into Australia, its a shame as I would have bought some of mine over as
I showed them but had to rehome the lot. 50+!!!!!
I think it is the same all over and not a state to state difference,
WA is a defo no go, sorry but bunnies are deemed as a pest over here
so they don't want anymore entering the country. If your heading to
WA I can sort you out any sort you want, have a pet store now and also
vet nursing.
Hope that helped Jenny

Actually, if/when we get to Australia, I shall go back into vet nursing
as UK trained vet nurses dont normally have a problem working in vets in
Australia.
Dont know how much they get paid though.

Dear Sion,
I've got bad news and good news. Good news first. AQIS has
comprehensive instructions at www.aqis.gov.au for import of any living
thing, and if it's not there you can email them.
Bad news now. Most Australians hate rabbits. Some detest them. A sure
way to social oblivion here is to call yourself a rabbit lover. Don't
forget that a large part of the Australian bush became infested by
rabbits very quickly in the 19th century and since then we have done
some very cruel things to them. See
http://www.csiro.au/communication/rabbits/qa1.htm or
http://www.skepticfiles.org/evolut/rabbitki.htm or http://www.answers.com/topic/rabbits-in-
australia or http://www.austmus.gov.au/eureka/2000/winner_pol.htm.
And unfortunately I'm not immune, one of my favourite movies is Jean de
Florette because the rabbit farmer got what he deserved. You might want
to email Pollyanna to see why she says no rabbit imports to Queensland.
That would be it.
Cheers,
George Lombard

My little racing whippet dog loves rabbits.
She use to love nothing better than chasing them in the woods when she
was young.
But I still hate rabbit stew.
Seriously though, the wild rabbit population in the UK is too big, there
are far too many of them.

Like I said before,
Rabit stew anyone? No? What about a Rabbit curry? Stir-fry?
Just kidding, I hope you come to a good decision, without having to
cook your pet!
