    Default Animals in Syndey Quarantine?

Has, anyone had any experience with the Sydney Quarantine kennels?

We are taking over from the US, our 2 great danes, and 2 cats. We are
just waiting on one of my great danes' RNATT tests to come back before
we apply for their import permits, and space at Sydney Quarantine.

Would love to hear any feedback from experiences with this.

    Thanks in advance
    Juliet

    Hi Julie

The Sydney Quarantine Station is first class, we used them for our Dog
i believe from the states your dogs and cats have to stay for 30 days
you can visit them on a Tuesday and Thursday if you so wish. Dependin
on how you are with your animals, my advise would be not to visit the
as you have to leave them again within a few hours, this ordeal coul
stress them out, as i am sure it does the owners

    Hi Juliet
My sister recently brought her dog back from Dubai. he had to say in the
Kennels in Melbourne for about 6 weeks i think. They looked after him very
well. he was healthier when he came out than when he went in! He is a rather
elderly corgi so we were all concerned. No problems tho,

I think it's better to visit them. It's stressful when you leave but i think
it lessens the stress when you finally take them home.

    hey

my 2 springers were in sydney back in jan/feb.

Sydney quarantine is HUGE! massive, and very busy. Don't know about
cats, but there are lots of dogs to be looked after so kennel staff
don't get to spend as much time with the dogs as I'm sure they'd like.
Both my dogs lots a little bit of wieght - was really just muscle as
they weren't getting out for walks etc. one did get an ear infection
which went unnoticed, but was easily cleared up in a few days after
    seeing my vet in brisbane.

the kennel/trainer i use in brisbane imports and exports security dogs
and he uses sydney all the time.

it's defo a "quarantine" - no frills or anything... but it does the job
fine and, apart from the isolated ear infection incident, all reports
    I've had have been good.

My lab was there in January. It is first class and he was WELL looked
after. He was assigned a keeper and I had her mobile number to ring
when I wanted to. You can visit Tuesdays and Thursdays and you can make
an appointment to take them out in the 'small' run that they have there
too. He did lose a bit of weight but nothing major and that is to be
expected really. The staff there were really nice though and very
    understanding.
