Advice needed Hello All!
I am trying to figure out what my visa options are, and I would greatly appreciate if someone could help me out a bit. I have already spent countless hours thinking about this, but maybe I am missing something. The primary destination is Perth.
My current situation is as follows:
Age: 33
English language ability: Listening:7.5, Reading:9, Writing:7, Speaking:6.5. (equals 0 points)
Skills assessed: 233512 Mechanical Engineer
Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
Overseas work experience: 43 months in engineering + 12 months in assembly mechanic
No partner points available.
To be eligible for 475 I would need 65 points.
Currently I am getting only 45 points, but I could resit the IELTS and gain 10 points and apply for 475 WA state sponsorship for regional WA which would give me extra 10 points. Consequently, I would have the required 65 points.
The problem with 475 is that there is no guarantee that I can achieve 7 in all bands in IELTS, and that I do not have any knowledge about the employment possibilities in regional WA. In addition, the ideal place should be near shore and services.
I have also thought about going to Perth with turist visa and finding an employer willing to sponsor me the 457 business visa. Would I be able to find employment with my work experience?
Which option should I follow or are there other options available that I am missing?

Re: Advice needed Hi mate and welcome

Perhaps check out the visa wizzard on the Australian immigration website here:
Australian Visa Wizard - Visas & Immigration
This can sometimes be a good way to review your visa options and the interview style is quite intuitive

Re: Advice needed We expect some radical changes to the general skilled migration stream to come into force on 1 July 2012. We don't know the details, so it is not possible to give any advice about what the situation will be post July.
What that means is that you have only have 5 months to sit new IELTS exam, get a positive skills assessment, get state sponsorship and lodge your application under the current system. You might well be able to achieve this, but it is a pretty tight deadline.
My advice would be to look for an employer to sponsor you and go for one of the employer sponsored visas.

Re: Advice needed Hello guys and thank you for the information

I am already very familiar with the visa wizard, and I have also got my skills assessed with EA as 233512 - Mechanical Engineer.
The problem is that I have failed to get 7 in each band in IELTS even after sitting the test 4 times.
I guess there is no other option than start looking for potential employers if my luck doesn't change soon.
