I'm interesting to get an idea of the final destinations that you folks have in mind (or the places you eventually ended up settling in if you have already arrived in Australia).

Ok, I'll get the ball rolling.

We ended up in Western Australia (Perth) , arriving late November last year. We were originally split between Sydney and Perth but having visited both cities the laid back lifestyle in Perth was something that really attracted us to this part of the world.

Sydney was still a fantastic city but for us (with a four year old in tow) Perth offered us the slight less hectic lifestyle we were looking for.

So where are you heading?

Regards

Mark

Red face

We are off to Adelaide, all my family live there, also the weather is better for me, dont like humidity, its more of a dry heat.

Although I have visited most of Aus already and all parts of the country are beautiful in their own way, I suppose it depends on each individuals preference, I grew up in Adelaide back in the Seventies so it will always be " home " to me. ( when we eventually get our visa !!!! )

Nice one

On the note of Adelaide, not sure if you can help Ian out at this thread?

I think Ian was looking for a few pointers on Why Adelaide and where to settle

Thanks for the note, even Perth has been pretty humid recently so I can see where you're coming from

Anyone else?

Regards

Mark

I'm headed to the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

The climate and landscape are closer to what I am use to and that is where most of my friends already are BONUS!!

Can't wait!!

We're hoping to go to Brisbane, there seems so much to do around the area and he combination of that and the weather (here and there) is irresistable!

Plus I had a reasonable amount of interest from a prospective employer - so fingers crossed.

Thanks SheoWahya and Treganin

I'm surprised that Victoria and Queensland are charging ahead with 28.6% of the votes , I thought NSW and WA would take the early lead

Still it's early dates yet

Thanks for taking the time to vote.

Went to Perth a few years ago now for a month and traveled along the coast.

Simply amazing.

I know that I should see more of Australia and I will at some point, but for now the plan is Perth.

We are looking to move to Brisbane - family and friends in the Brisbane/Gold Coast area being the main reason, as well as the climate of course. Fell in love with the area on our last visit. Going to take in Melbourne & Sydney on our next trip later in the year, but settled on Brisbane area for now.

Hey Maz and welcome to getting down under

I can certainly appreciate where you're coming from with regard to Brissie. We were lucky enough to fly into Brisbane when we went on a short break to a place called Noosa heads about four years ago.

Noosa is about two hours from Brisbane by car but we had a couple of days in Brisbaine to

Great place
