I know I can often be a little romantic about the wonderful weather we receive here in Western Australia.

Perth is the sunniest capital city in the world at the end of the day so it’s often very easy to gloat when the weathers so damn nice all the time.

Yesterday it would seem was payback time for that three years of gloating when the worse weather experienced in Perth in over 10 years hit the CBD and surrounding areas.. VERY hard!!

We’re talking 120 kph+ winds, 40 mm of rain in less than three hours, hail stones the size of golf balls, fallen trees, damaged cars… All interesting and (slightly scary) stuff.

I was working in the CBD when the storm hit and got some cracking views from the office where I’m based which is on the 30th floor . The missus was at home and got some cracking views of a different variety, the window cracking variety as the hailstone hit.

Lots of soggy towels when I got home and the beautiful frangipanis and Banana trees in our back garden got a real hammering.

Anyway, they say a picture paints a thousand words so I hope you enjoy these. Not very sunny is it? The sunset after the storm was pretty spectacular though!
